The Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) joined the US Black Chambers, Inc. and Regeneration LLC to host a free webinar on “Removing Barriers for Under-Serviced Communities: A Conversation with the US Black Chambers, Inc.”

This webinar equipped entrepreneurs who are persons of color with resources to survive and thrive during the current global health and economic crisis. Attendees learned how they can promote a culture that encourages diversity, equity, and inclusion for all businesses in Michigan. The webinar also inspired action to remove barriers hindering businesses in under-serviced and under-resourced areas/populations from equitable access to capital.

The free webinar was held on February 2nd at 11:30 AM and featured a one-hour conversation between Michigan SBDC Regional Director Beth Roszatycki, Regeneration LLC Principal Dr. Pam Pugh, and Ron Busby, Sr. of the US Black Chambers, Inc.

“Small businesses are critical to the success of Michigan and our regional main streets,” said Beth Roszatycki, Michigan SBDC Northeast & Great Lakes Bay Regional Director. “Our shared vision includes strategies that will advocate, enable, and empower business owners of color to build sustainable, innovative companies while equipping them with the skills to help their business continue to grow and prosper. It is critical that we are inclusive in our work to support all businesses and share resources widely.”

“We are excited to partner with the Michigan SBDC to provide insight into national and local policy initiatives that support black business owners,” said Ron Busby, President & CEO of US Black Chambers, Inc.

“The health of our communities are tied to the strength and survival of our small businesses,” added Dr. Pam Pugh, Owner of Regeneration LLC. “By partnering with Regeneration LLC and US Black Chambers, Inc. the Michigan SBDC is demonstrating their commitment to businesses typically under-serviced and under-resourced.”

Small businesses, economic developers, and entrepreneurial support organizations are encouraged to watch the recording of this free webinar at this link.
