What will be learned

This is an introduction to resources available to small businesses on the critical topic of cybersecurity. We will discuss on current cyber threats and risks to small business. We will also be discussing several mitigations to cyber threats and key protections that you should think about. These will include impactful measures to take to minimize risk of falling victim to a cyberattack.

Why you should attend

In our ever connected world, cyberthreats are everywhere and small businesses are no exception. Cybercriminals constantly evolve their methods and change up tactics so staying on top of the latest cyberthreats and learning how to manage these is critical to any organization’s success. Whether it was the transition of ransomware from encrypting files to now threatening to release the files if the ransom isn’t paid or the use of AI in creating realistic images and voices to social engineer small business employees.

Cybersecurity and small business

Small businesses are targets and oftentimes have less robust security in place. Cybercriminals know this. Cybercriminals also know small businesses have valuable information they can steal and sell. Why go after a large business with tight security, when a few small businesses offer the same value? Cybercrime is usually about opportunity and quick success in the attack. Smash and grab, hit and run tactics are common. So come and learn on cybersecurity!
