Bob Honeyman

Robert Honeyman joined the Michigan SBDC Tech Team in 2016. He has extensive experience with software startups as well as manufacturing companies in the tech sector. His career exposed him to all functional areas in corporate finance and accounting ranging from credit manager to CFO.

For his last employer, he opened a half dozen foreign subsidiaries to support sales efforts. This required him to interact with local attorneys and certified accountants’s firms. He was responsible for finding and setting up borrowing relationships with a bank that understands the specific needs of a software company. 

Immediately prior to joining the Tech Team, Bob worked with a handful of startups as CFO-cofounder. He provided strategic consulting, financial modeling and business plan writing for various individuals launching new businesses.

Bob’s responsibilities for the Tech Team include developing algorithm-driven financial forecast models and providing consulting and coaching to tech startups.

Mr. Honeyman earned both a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Economics, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.
