As you may have heard, Twitter has requested all users to change their passwords because they inadvertently recorded user passwords in plaintext on an internal system. Twitter has stated that nothing was exposed externally but still strongly recommends changing your Twitter password and any other account that used that password as well.

Sometimes having your data exposed is completely out of your control and you’re left to clean up someone else’s mess. Changing your password for Twitter and any account that shares the same login credentials should be done immediately. Some social media sites allow you to view all connected devices to your account, check this and remove any unneeded device. If you currently do not have two-factor authentication turned on, it is highly recommended to enable it.
