Tony Fox is the Regional Director for the Mid Michigan regional office. Prior to joining the Michigan SBDC, Tony started and operated a residential construction company for 6 years following completion of the Entrepreneurship program at CMU, building on skills and knowledge obtained growing up in a family contracting business. In addition to maintaining current status as a licensed Michigan Residential Builder, Fox also maintains Certified Global Business Professional status through NASBITE International.
Tony is responsible for providing comprehensive leadership, oversight, planning, resource development, coordination, and management of the Mid Michigan SBDC Regional Center.
During Tony’s 15 years with the Michigan SBDC he directly assisted 1,947 clients. The collective regional impact during this period included 323 startups and over $81M in client capital access support.

David Vajda

David Vajda is a Business Consultant with the Mid Michigan regional office. David has an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Central Michigan University. David brings a wealth of experience with 15 years in commercial lending working primarily with small and middle market companies. As a 13 year business entrepreneur, David knows firsthand the issues and pressures new businesses face while starting and growing a financial services company.
David works with both new and established businesses, particularly those in need of cash flow assistance and those seeking financing from financial institutions.

Emily Gibson

Emily Gibson is a Business Consultant and Intake Coordinator with the Mid Michigan regional office. Emily joined the Michigan SBDC in early 2023. Prior to joining the Michigan SBDC, Emily started her career in small business operations, with diverse responsibilities such as customer service, accounting, marketing, logistics, HR, and more. She holds an MSA in Nonprofit Administration from Central Michigan University.
Emily is also engaged in our local Small Business Support Hub, meeting with business owners involved with the Great Lakes Bay Small Business Hub. Her primary areas of consulting include new client intake assessments, start-up assistance and business plan development, web marketing, and customer service.
