RASTA provides instant gunshot detection and location technology designed specifically for schools. Unlike traditional systems that rely on someone calling 911, RASTA’s solution automatically alerts law enforcement within one second of a gunshot and pinpoints its exact location—even in echo-prone environments. It helps schools reduce response times, eliminate confusion and protect lives when every second counts.

RASTA employs a Michigan-based core of two founders and has posted for 5–10 Detroit-area engineering interns and has reinvested roughly $93.5K of grant and pitch-competition funding in lab space and prototyping. Ten pilot agreements with private high schools will book about $60K this year, with a pipeline that could lift FY 2026 Michigan revenue to $250-300K and support four to six new full-time hires.

By 2030 RASTA projects 25–30 employees, ≥60 % of cost-of-goods spent on Michigan suppliers and more than $15M in cumulative in-state revenue—all while keeping STEM talent local and burnishing the state’s reputation as a hub for responsive school-safety technology.
