D’VINE Cookies

Some cookies can be described as heavenly. And some cookies can be described as downright D’VINE. Rebecca Abel Buick coined the name D’VINE Cookies based on “divine intuition” when she decided to expand her professional portfolio beyond financial planning into building a super-sized, stuffed cookie company from scratch. With a differentiated product and dreams of scaling quickly, Rebecca reached out to a variety of resources, including the Michigan SBDC. There she met Business Growth Consultant Julie Oldham, who helped with organizational design, employee job descriptions, roles and responsibilities.

“I’m a numbers person, so that side of the business and watching the margins has been a focus. Julie and her team have been very helpful on the human resources side, and I look forward to working through the Focus Four™ program to help set us up for continued growth,” said Rebecca.

Today the business has international distribution through retail, corporate, restaurant and gifting channels, both on e-commerce sites and at brick and mortar locations. What started out as cookies baked in a church basement has truly turned into a D’VINE offering.
