Holiday cyber-threats
The holidays are a time filled with giving. We give gifts to our families, friends, and to charities. F-Secure, a leading cybersecurity company, reports that this time of year people are 39% more likely to click on phishing emails than other times of the year. Cyber-criminals know this and use this towards their advantage.
We should always be diligent about phishing emails and scams, but there are certain times of the year or after certain types of events where we are more vulnerable to succumbing to phishing attacks. As reported by F-Secure the holidays are a time of increased phishing attacks, but also during tax season or after a natural disaster or a large national or world event.
