What is a DDoS Attack?

A DDoS attack, or a Distributed Denial of Service attack, is targeted at web services and websites. DDoS attacks send many requests to a web service or website, flooding the web service’s or website’s capability to handle the increased traffic. This causes either the web service or website to fail, no longer being accessible.
